A Few Words About Nothing to Dread

2
April 8, 2012

I just put the finishing touches on an article that I think some of you will enjoy. It’s not really an interview, but I’ve taken several excerpts from a message  that I received from a non-nudist friend who recently read Nothing to Dread for the first time. I’m giving her a chance to approve the article before [...]

The miracle of breastfeeding

Woman breastfeeding a child while surrounded by others listening to speakers

Louise Boyle. Southern Tenant Farmers Union Photographs, 1937 and 1982

Public breastfeeding is not about nudity, nudism, sexuality, or any of the other topics that I normally write about. Public breastfeeding is about a hungry child’s right to eat without shame. Not all women can or will breastfeed their children; however, we shouldn’t force children to eat where you shit just because some people aren’t mature enough to ignore the sight of a bared breast and nipple.

I haven’t done the research, and I don’t know or understand the science and psychology of breastfeeding. Read more »

Queen Crab cover censored

March 16, 2012

Are Americans so uncomfortable with sexuality that we can no longer look at the cover of Queen Crab by Jimmy Palmiotti and laugh? Or is there a chemical released by a woman’s brain during pregnancy that destroys any vestige of prenatal cool? Due to the quick thinking of comic book shop employees, probably in Florida, the children of their [...]

A funny thing happened after I wrote my last article about why I don’t post photos here at Nothing to Dread. I started to think a lot about posting photos. Read more »

Nude people on sail boat

Several visitors per day arrive at Nothing To Dread looking for information about Le Petite Chateau and the Robideauxs. I wonder what  Don & Mary are up to these days.

Brain Drain

February 21, 2012

I’m suffering from a touch of brain drain after preparing for a couple of professional re-certification tests that I had to take this morning. I should be up and writing as soon as my brain comes off the charger.

On deconstructions of decency

January 30, 2012

Steve Ricci has written an excellent article, Deconstructions of Decency, at The Weissman Report. Thank’s to Nudiarist for turning me on to the article via his Twitter feed. With me back,  @Nudiarist should change his tagline to “@Nudiarist on Twitter, where lazy nudist bloggers go for article prep”. So now that I’m finished giving credit where credit is due. I am not the first to observe that while [...]

We don’t share that way

January 28, 2012

The rule is at least one post a day…. I’ve got nothing. I spent the day trying to come up with a topic, but nothing managed to move me to the keyboard. I tried to get an idea from a friend, but he and his wife both agreed that I should probably stick with nothing. I pressed [...]

We live in remarkable times

January 26, 2012

I paid a visit to the office commode just after closing this evening.  As I sat there doing what that particular seat was designed for, I noticed that I could hear music playing in the shop next door. I could hear it quite clearly. The song was a Mexican balad, or maybe it was a [...]
